Someone told me that they didn't understand "The Fat Man", that maybe I was applying to myself a label that no one else sees me as. One of the most influential books I have ever read was The House of God and one of the main characters is "The Fat Man". The Fat Man is the "enigmatic, iconoclastic and wise senior resident" who helps to teach the interns about perspective in both healthcare and life. He also came up with the Laws of the House of God. Maybe I see part of this character in me.
